Custom connections
Bring a supported service into Puffle even when it is outside the catalog.

choose the connection method#
Open Plugins and use Add connection. The available methods let you describe a service through a supported MCP server or API definition.
MCP is a standard way for a service to describe the tools an agent can use. An API definition describes a service’s requests and responses. Neither one automatically grants account access.
add the service#
Use the provider’s documented endpoint or API description and follow the fields in Puffle’s connection form. Review the service name and connection scope before saving.
Puffle may ask for provider sign-in, a key, or other supported setup. Use the secure form for credentials. A service that needs an unsupported authentication method may not be connectable through this flow.
inspect and verify#
After connecting, inspect the tools and set their permissions. Start with a read-only task against a known resource and check that it returns the expected account’s information.
If a service does not expose the needed tools, adding instructions in chat cannot create that capability. Check its endpoint or API definition with the service owner.
